After much reflection I have decided that winter is not just about the weather, but about the way that people treat each other, how our relationships are affected and the fact that not being able to go outside to play due to torrential rain can send children parents into temporary insanity.
This week illness has meant that a relatively normal week has been turned upside down and inside out, not by me being ill, but everyone around me. Colds, flu, vomiting and the runs are responsible for more time off work for employees than any other complaints, and all are viruses. Z4, who is determined to be a doctor, has decided that she has to figure out a way to stop these pests; without us all having to sanitise everything and everyone around us. Shouldn’t we as the human race have evolved past getting the common cold, we all know there is nothing common about it.
Enough of my complaining.
I love my children a little more each day, if that is possible, and love the simplicity of life they bring our adult complicatedness (is there such a word?).
I wish for all the world in the depths of winter at the moment that they have health, wealth, happiness and maybe a little sunshine….
