It is finally raining and it is great. That is all I have to say!
Have you ever wondered… February 6, 2008
Why the sky is blue? Why grass is green? I have a million and one work things to be doing and have completely lost motivation for the whole lot! Won’t be much help to me when I have my big meeting this afternoon and I have no presentation. OOPS Oh well, life goes on.
I have been wondering how I managed to sleep through last night when apparently my son was up half the night coughing. I think it is a combination of having had no GOOD sleep for the past 4 years and my admission to myself that even if I got up I can’t do anything anyway and he is not even waking himself up!
Enough of my moaning, the moon eclipse is this afternoon. I was listening to the news on the radio and was surprised to hear that the only comment from the expert in watching this phenomenon was chopped off to only saying “put a piece of paper on the window with a pinhole in it”. Now I am sure that he had more to say and that we could have all benefited from it, but no, apparently we are supposed to know why we can’t just go outside and stare at the sky. I am pretty sure that the kids won’t be able to look through a pinhole, let alone me, there must be a better way…
Someone in charge of the weather must have read my last blog because it is now cold in the mornings and at night!!!! YAYYYYY
I have to mention to that my favouritist blog to read is the Bean Bag, I can only aspire to your greatness!
Plumbers February 4, 2008
I was off work sick today from 12 o’clock with a headache, major can’t stand the light headache. I had a phone call while home that the rental agency had finally found a plumber and he was ringing to make a time. He said ” I will be there in an hour” I said “that means 1.30″ he said “yes”. 2pm came and went, lucky I was home sick with no where to go! He finally turned up and I have to give credit where credit is due, he did fix everything I asked, except one where it needs a specialist shower guy. But why is it that they can never turn up when they say, even if they make the appointment one hour before they are due? Bit like seeing the doctor really…
Z4 was back to Kindy today. She waved and yelled goodbye from the fence, must have been first day nerves. But traffic getting there was shocking, first day nerves for everyone all round, was sure I was going to have a crash, I don’t know why kids don’t like taking the bus on the first day back. Sorry, should mention that the kindy is attached to a school that goes from ages 5 to 18 and then a small tertiary institute attached as well. They ALL went back today.
J1 is happy as long as he is in a car going somewhere, but his first morning on his own with his educator has been helped by the fact that he is comfortable there and knows it well after being there with Z4 so much. J1 went to the beach to collect shells so I am sure he won’t want to come home…
I am always amazed at this time of year how everyone seems to get going again, even if it does seem oppressively hot and humid. I am sure that some people love the heat, but I much prefer the warm days and cool nights of Autumn. Roll on autumn leaves and cool crisp mornings…
My First Blog February 1, 2008
After much deliberation and coaxing I have decided to have a go at this. I don’t know where I will find the time, but I don’t know where many of you find the time, particularly mums. I am a mum to beautiful children, Z4 and J1. I work full time and help my husband with his business and try to have a social life.
I finally booked myself in for a manicure today, first time ever. I am very curious to see how they can make my hagged, freckled, mangy hands and nails look any good, but we will see if a miracle can be worked.
J1 has just started potty training, he went the whole day and only one wet pair of undies, well done him. Did help that his ever efficient nana was looking after him and not his tired, distracted mother, tomorrow could be a very different story.
Z4 is obsessed with running away from me at the moment, as thebeanbag can well attest to, thank you for the great time away in the countryside by the way.
